The Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills has sought a new look from luxury interior design firm, sfa design. As the longstanding, choice locale for Hollywood A-List events: film premier press junkets, celebrity weddings and charity benefits, the Four Seasons at Beverly Hills serves as a home away from home to an impressive list of the traveling elite. With the task of redesigning nearly 300 guestrooms and suites, along with the extraordinary main ballroom and the iconic Windows Lounge, sfa design's vision was to modernize the preexisting traditional-style interiors, while incorporating elements of classic Four-Seasons flora and invoking the rich history of Old Hollywood and Beverly Hills.

With a warm, clean Southern-California style at its core, the design for the hotel evolved into one of classic aestheticism and smart simplicity. The guestrooms' redesign (photo below) nods to the timeless glamor of 1940s Hollywood, with elegantly mirrored wall paneling and white-gold contemporized chinoiserie headboards. The palette is composed of a soft blend of warm tans, fair woods and an elegant infusion of aqua. The tan carpet features a slightly abstracted aqua pattern of spherical flora, a modern tribute to the Four Season's long-standing tradition of incorporating the loveliest elements of nature. This same reinterpretation of floral-inspired patterns is apparent in smartly subtle details such as the petite, vibrant blue bolsters that bounce off the clean, white linens and the leaf-patterned throw at the foot of the bed.

For the guest looking for a more modern design, the Presidential East Suite below reflects clean lines, contemporary furnishings and bold contemporary artworks. The color palette is a contemporary mix of crème, chocolate brown and dusty blue in the living areas. Then den and master suite are enhanced with rich smoky grays, crèmes and accents of burnt caramel. [Photos and information provided via e-mail by sfa design]
